Chersti was born in the outskirts of the Diamond Woods, just outside elvan territory. Rising tensions among the Kardeshi and the elves made a peaceful life impossible, and Chersti’s family fled their home while she was still young.
After seeing the girl practice her magic, a local merchant sponsored her scholarshiop into a magical school for children, provided she join the Order of Coin, which forced her into indentured servitude in exchange for her schooling. Chersti’s parents agreed to the bargain and Chersti didn’t understand what it entailed. As the schooling became easier, Chersti learned how to master the subject matter almost as much as her teachers. The resentment against her grew, especially as she starting refusing to fulfill more carnal wishes of the elder members of the Order. She eventually fled the Order, and moved south where she started taking mercenary jobs as a living.
After performing some questionable jobs, Chersti applied to and was accepted into Cyriaan’s Arcane University. Her novel mastery of an experimenting branch of telekinesis called “Tickle Magic’ raise the curiosity of the staff, who wondered at the young pupil’s potential. Chersti befriended another young mage named Ylie, who quickly became best friends.
